My .02 on the surge of foodie issues I've been posting

In general, I do find many of the ideas agreeable, but, in typical American fashion, I do believe there is a consensus that this is all a cure all, magic bullet. It really makes me sick to hear people argue that a change in diet is going to solve a laundry list of problems. These views often seem over simplified and naive. Yes, a change to our relationship with food on a massive scale is important and necessary. We should not just stop there. Much more of the typical lifestyle needs to be adjusted in order to get closer to truly excellent results.

So, what are my thoughts on all this; or, rather, am I going to become a vegetarian or raw vegan? I'm not convinced I'd be able to give up meat. I enjoy, too much, a great steak, corn beef hash, fresh oysters, most seafood; I also like cheese in most cases, and some other dairy. I am interested in getting closer to some of the practices of a raw diet. Taking the approach that I'm getting from Mark Bittman, more fresh vegetables and a smaller amount of meat. Maybe make it more of a treat than a staple...truth is I'm somewhat like this as it is, I'm not eating much meat, and when I do it's not a 16 oz steak; that does sound good though!! Anyway, some intelligent people here, talking about a key to our survival.

Mongol Rally

Basically Ever since I first discovered the little adventure called Mongol Rally, I've held it high on my bucket list. With that in mind, I'd also like to do the Sahara Rally and, to be quite honest, make somewhat of a habit of a nomadic lifestyle. If you're savvy!?!? Driving Rich Crazy 2006 Two guys named Richard, drive a Fiat Uno almost to Ulan Baatar. Well produced and the conclusion is perfect!

Nick & Barnaby This was my first introduction to the rally, expedia sponsored these two guy to drive it in a classic mini. They release the videos about 2 a week or so and it was good fun keeping up with it.

Saharan Rally These guys did both rally's so far. I'm impressed!
